Re: Austrian Civil War
Much of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade Group had arrived in Vienna to find, in short, utter chaos. Fully expecting a fight on their hands, they were somewhat let down on that front - but coordinating with their newly-acquired mercenary allies to establish a secure zone around the airport and extending into the city took... some doing. Given their unsuitability for city fighting, much of the armour and some of the supporting mechanized infantry were dispatched to establish a more secure airfield and base outside Vienna.
OOC; the following have arrived in Territory 133;
>4pts. Motorized Infantry
>8pts. Mechanized Infantry
>3pts. Armour
>2pts. Artillery

Re: Austrian Civil War
With the situation at the airfield resolved somewhat anticlimactically- a few missiles fired, hesitation on both sides, then finally ending in the dispersion of monarchist forces- the mercenary forces within Austria were able to settle into a routine of clearing the countryside surrounding Vienna of pockets of resistance. Under direction of the UNDF the mercenaries focused on quelling fights between any conflicting parties rather than aligning to any one side, stepping in whenever smaller flashpoints lit up. Many of the newly-disbanded German forces in the country would suddenly appear on the Legionairre's payroll, bringing some of their more exotic weapons with them to the curiosity of assembled soldiers.

Re: Austrian Civil War
Over the summer, most militia groups backed off and licked their wounds as the UNDF, Madagascorp, Aragonese and Italian forces flooded into the country and quite convincingly battered the various militias into submission. As the summer ended, fall began and then winter crossed in to settle a deep freeze in the Central European nation as alternating militias and factions debated whether to send representatives to the Italian-led peace talks. Sporadic fighting continued over the months, but it never reached the intensity that had marked the early summer of 1976.
By the time January 1977 arrived, insurgent attacks and militiamen roving the streets of multiple cities became a common sight. Monarchist militias geared up to engage the Socialists and anarcho-capitalists in the east with Aragonese and Italian troops looking on, while the chaos that had marked the combat in and around Vienna seemed to have been contained by the anarcho-capitalist militias and the UNDF in a tenuous, uneasy arrangement.
Of course, the question of the German military that had nearly caused an international crisis remained in the air. Many opted to join the mercenaries, bringing with them their weapons and whatever vehicles they could "requisition", but many simply surrendered to the UNDF while others moved towards friendly Aragonese and Italian troops, hoping to get jobs in some fashion with their armies.
Overall, the deep freeze did not seem to affect the various militias and insurgents which seemed hellbent to reheat the war regardless of temperature or rationality.
OOC: German forces alternatively surrender to the UNDF, Aragon/Italy, or Madagascorp.
In Territory 133, all militia forces engage with one another. Monarchist forces do not engage UNDF, Madagascorp or Aragonese/Italian units.
In Territory 134, Monarchist forces engage with anarcho-capitalist and the Trotskyites. Anarcho-capitalist and Trotskyite militias engage the monarchists, Aragon, and Italy.
