SRA-Victoria DiploMagic
Re: SRA-Victoria DiploMagic
Contrary to the tone of Victoria’s reply, the President was met with full honours and escorted to the Royal Towers. Queen Catharine was waiting in one of her meeting rooms, a cup of tea steaming on the table in front of her. A pot and another cup were on the table.
The Queen didn’t stand to greet her American counterpart, instead glancing up from her tea with idle interest. “President van Baarle, congratulations and condolences,” Catharine said. “Why have you come all this way?”

van Baarle nodded, taking a sip of tea after pouring some for himself. "The American people thank you for your kind words in this time. Unfortunately, I must speak ill of the dead, primarily because my predecessor made... some mistakes the last time our nations spoke. Peter confused his own ideals and goals with that of the American people, and though we are searching tirelessly to bring to justice the men responsible for his death, I must work to undo the damage he has caused to American diplomacy, especially in regards to Victoria. So, that is why I have come to see Dar es Salaam in all its splendor and beauty, to sit before you and mend the rift between our nations."

Catharine let out a snorting laugh. “Well, yes, Marsden fucked things up. And Wood didn’t exactly help. So. The first thing you can do is put out a press release from your office telling the truth about how my soldiers saved the Americans at Columbia. No more lies there. No more covering to make yourselves look better. But,” she paused a moment to take a sip of tea before continuing, “you need to also restore the contracts and lost wealth that was promised to my men in the rebuilding of the former United States.”

van Baarle let out a huff of air, slowly sipping on tea that was far too warm for his liking. If only he had some ice. He drew a sharp breath, trying to conceal the awful taste of warm tea and damaging terms. "So be it. The news will be spread from my office, but I cannot control how the papers choose to interpret it, of course. Contacts and lost wealth can also be arranged, so long as we know where to direct the payments and work to. What else is necessary?"
Re: SRA-Victoria DiploMagic
Catharine set her tea aside and leaned back, folding her hands over her stomach. Her smile was full of contentment. “That’s all. That will bring us back to where we were before Marsden decided to trash our relations. We will be returned to neutral footing. If you want a return to the friendship that I offered your nation? Restore the bases that my men built. And the airstrips for my aircraft. It is imperative that I be able to impart judgment to any petty dictator in the world who thinks they can abuse their people. Positions in the former United States will help ensure that my forces can do just that. And will show that America is a partner in ensuring peace and stability reign.”

"Judgments shall be rendered, I suppose, no matter who is hosting the bombers. We will have to negotiate specifics with the Army to make sure that the proper accommodations are made, but I can see this being possible within the year. I would hope that our Navy will also be allowed to refuel and port at Victorian outposts?"
Re: SRA-Victoria DiploMagic
“As allies, yes. Your navy will be allowed to refuel at any port we hold, unless doing so would jeopardize the safety of that port. In the meantime, I think you’ll find that being able to point to my Seraphim will assist in your unification of the fallen American States. The corrupt leaders of the fallen States will learn that they cannot resist, cannot send their people off to die, without burning in the same fires of war.”

"Allies... yes. Well, if nothing else, we in Atlanta can take comfort in the fact that future unification wars will be swift. I look forward to our continued prosperity together."
Re: SRA-Victoria DiploMagic
Some time after the new American President had gone home, Victoria sent a message to their ally informing them of the German Flu present in Eastern Iran. A request was made for air combat units to provide assistance in enforcing a no-fly zone and quarantine of the infected areas.

A reply was sent back, indicating that Congress had authorized the deployment of a wing of F-100 fighters to the area.
