The Empire of Mexico is an industrially advanced nation seeking to restore order to the immediate Spanish speaking areas of the Americas in the post-quarantine world. Following the disastrous decade known as the Mexican revolution (1910-1920s), the brutality of the second world war, and the devastating German Flu, the Mexican people in the capital quarantined themselves from the rest of the world, just as everyone else did. The instability and panic that resulted from shutting themselves away drove people to yearn for a more stable, benevolent government. They sought to re-establish an empire, a Mexican Empire, the third of its kind, only this time, there would be no foreign influence presiding over its creation. A constitution was set up, and a new, native, imperial line was created, sanctioned by the only Roman-Catholic institution still around during the quarantine: the Roman-Catholic archdiocese of Mexico. It was during and despite the quarantine, building on the myriad of historical examples, that the newly minted Empire created an industrial powerhouse. No longer seeking to be dominated by foreign interests, the Empire looks to create a better standard of living for its Spanish-speaking, Catholic citizens, elevated above its new global contemporaries.

The Federal Republic of the Rocky Mountain State was established shortly after the collapse of the Central U.S. government to maintain order in the area surrounding the Rocky mountains. It's founding states include Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Utah. The large amount of resources in these territories has allowed the Rocky Mountain States' to initiate trade with many of it's surrounding nations. Currently, it faces difficulties in connecting the many small areas of civilization across it's vast borders.

The Gulf was established to get away from the crazy nuts in all the rest of the United States. They decided, after copious amounts of LSD, that Anarchism via Jury Duty would allow for a perfectly fair true democracy with representative elements for foreign affairs chosen by punch card. The military would involve a bunch of people volunteering for their own groups and then coordinating with each other, because that's better than being told to do by The Man.

The Republic of South Africa is a multi-party, parliamentary republic loudly claiming the ideals of capitalism and the ability to choose one's own religion. While they have experienced a great deal of racial discrimination and troubles for decades even before their independence, and still continue to experience it, progressive elements have been taking advantage of demographics shifted by the German Flu pandemic to push back the regressives and attempt to create a truly freer society that allows all a chance to try and prosper where they see fit. The problem is, these progressives can't all seem to agree which direction that freedom should take.
