The Kingdom of Italy is in favour of direct military support for the Kingdom of Chad. Italy's delegate to the WEC also notes that Italy is also in the process of sending an independent military force to aid Chad, and would appreciate any support other WEST members offer.

In the interest of further promoting prosperity and good relations in Europe, Aragon proposes an extension and expansion of the existing trade agreement between most members into a purely economic civilian sister organisation to the WEST organisation. Observance or membership in such an organisation would not be contingent upon a relationship with the WEST organisation. This would serve to extend the benefits of multilateral economic intercourse outside of our direct military alliance, increasing the wealth of Europe more generally, strengthening ties and making war that much more unappealing, and expanding the reach of our influence in a strategically and morally positive fashion.

The separation of the European Economic Zone ("Eurozone") into an independent body is put to the WEC. Only a simple majority is required. [Success will result in the creation of a second thread.]

Aragon votes aye.

Following the conclusion of the Malian war of conquest against Chad, and the WEST intervention that saw its swift end, the Kingdom of Chad is invited to reconsider its refusal to pursue WEST membership.

With the Austro-Czech war fought and lost within mere weeks, it is left to WEST to pick up the pieces. The restraint displayed by the Czech government and military is admirable, they draw no ire from us. The acts of the Austrian government, and the ensuing civil war it has allowed itself to descend into, are however despicable. Vile anarchists storm their capital and communists run rampant. Action is demanded, intervention is a necessity. It pains us that amidst these intolerable factions, what is left to us to support are pretenders at best.

A moderate coalition deployment will be sufficient to put down the most dangerous, nothing like the full-scale deployment to war as was lent to Chad, but our work cannot end there; Austria must be rebuilt from the ground up. Their would-be Emperor must understand his place. The Austrian people must be respected. Economic intervention will be required. Peacekeeping forces will be required until a loyal local military can be raised and residual dissidence stamped out.

Given the situation and the terms of the treaty, the matter is unquestionable. We will see you in the war room.

Citing the obvious threat on its border, Germany votes overwhelming in favor and is prepared to contribute a sizeable mechanized infantry group to the area.

The Celtic Union is willing to provide intelligence and logistical support, but believes this mission falls outside of WEST's goals and area of influence. The Netherlands also shares this opinion with the Union.

Italy notes its skepticism of Aragon's intentions, and that the specific wording that Aragon used may in fact place the mission outside WEST's purview. However Italy believes that intervention solely in the interest of stability is firmly within the WEST Organization's area of influence and goals. The conflict in Austria poses a grave threat to the stability of the Western European region, and the WEST Organization would be remiss if we did not step in.

Therefore Italy brings forth a formal proposal for intervention in the Austrian civil war:

1. In the interest of regional stability WEST members shall form a moderate coalition force for the purpose of swiftly ending the Austrian civil war.
2. Given the current Austrian government's reckless belligerence and the Austrian people's discontent towards them, allowing them to continue governing the Austrian people would only endanger regional stability, therefore a new one must be installed.
3. Given that fascist regimes prove too unstable, and that it would take too long to find the legitimate heir to the Austrian throne, coalition forces should therefore promote the creation of a democratic Austrian force, or failing that install a new Austrian monarch.
4. To ensure the long term stability in the region coalition forces should remain in Austria no less than five years, or longer should the situation call.
