Bangladeshi Civil War
Re: Bangladeshi Civil War
“They’re attacking Kuwait? How fucking petty.” Cathy shook her head and sighed. “I thought that, at least, they might come for us. We’re their devil, their bogeyman. But no. Of course not. They target the weak instead. Have everything made ready. I’m going to burn them in Tehran, for all their people to see. They’ll know that they’re free from madmen ruling them.”

The Ascendant Host was always ready to board their transports and fly to some new combat zone. It was what they were trained for. What the Host had been created for. So when the order came that they were being transferred from Bangladesh to the Iranian liberation efforts, it came as no real surprise and posed only a minimal hardship on the soldiers themselves. Their logistics corps, on the other hand, would have significant work to do cleaning up after the Host’s departure.
The first Victorian soldiers into Iran were the men and women of the 36th Airborne Brigade, their task simply to join the RIP agents already present at the landing zones in order to more properly secure them. From there the rest of the Host flooded in, landing in the abandoned Iranian territories.
The Host gave the option to surrender to the few garrisons left behind, but if those options were ignored then the Host would simply roll over the unfortunate souls that were in their path. The Pacification Squads were the vanguard of the liberation effort, spreading into Iranian cities with the clear message that Victoria was present only to liberate the Iranian people.
Government officials would be arrested and held in Pacification Squad administered camps pending war crime trials. Each city and town liberated by the Host would be told that elections were coming, and the Pacification Squads began to prepare for just that purpose.
The main force of the Host, however, drove up the Iranian coast toward Bandar Mahshahr. Once that city was secured the Host would be in a position to face down the Iranian units across the gulf.
All this was done under the protective cover of the RAPS, whose aircraft would also be taking up positions in Iran.
The Royal Army Maritime Service was deployed to assist with securing the Iranian coast as well.
The Victorian UNDF deployment was flown into Bangladesh to take the place of the Host.
OOG-
The Host transfers from Bangladesh to Iran (from Territory 283 to territory 297), and then moves to occupy 298.

Re: Bangladeshi Civil War
To say the troops of the 1st Mechanized Brigade Group were somewhat irate was rather an understatement.
While the news outlets typically spoke cautiously and neutrally of foreign powers, few hid their open contempt for Iran - more and more, as the situation in Bangladesh had worn on, public opinion had soured with remarkable speed; even the briefing documentation, distributed as the group shipped out, held overtones of distaste. Their goal was simple; drive Iranian forces from Kuwait and secure the small country, and thereafter assist the UNDF in securing Iran itself.
Assuming, naturally, the Victorians hadn't simply rolled over the entire country already.
The force would land on the southern coast and airfields of Kuwait and push north at best speed; reinforcing the capital and moving from there. Satellite comms were established with the other UNDF forces present, areas of responsibility divided, and battle was joined.
Forces moving to Kuwait with the UNDF;
>4 units Armour
>4 units Mechanized Infantry
>2 units Motorized Infantry
>3 units Artillery
>4 units Fighters

Korean forces present in Bangladesh have begun assisting in efforts to counter to recent plague outbreak, and have put in a request for a WHIP presence, alongside any forces the UNDF can spare for further assistance.

Re: Bangladeshi Civil War
Perhaps a true end to the Bangladeshi Civil War was too good to be true.
Just as the last confirmed cases of the German Flu reported back negative, the warring parties resumed a war frozen in time. Each side had been waiting for the risk of death by plague to pass to trade it for risk of death by bullet. In the intervening years, cities had been mostly rebuilt and government - legitimate and not - continued mostly undisturbed, save for reports of localized firefights and miscounted death tolls. However, houses and roads were not the only things being built. New arms funneled into the country by means few wanted to hazard a guess to as the rebuilt armies of four competing ideologies battled for dominance in the beleaguered country.
Unfortunately, in the spring of 1972, Bangladesh was once again at war as the Communist government began a campaign to crush the rebellions, insurrections, and opportunistic criminals plaguing its land. In the east, the Social Democrats found themselves under artillery and air attack by the government and, curiously enough, the Monarchists. It seemed someone had significantly upgraded the upstart King of Bangladesh with new planes and armored vehicles, more than a match for Bangladesh's Soviet-inspired armor. In the north, the anarchists loaded their rifles and waited for the inevitable.
Once again, Bangladesh was at war.

Due to the deteriorating situation and a call for assistance from the Bangladeshi government, the Socialist Republics of America dispatched the SRN 1st Fleet to Bangladesh, as well as the Socialist Republic Marine Corps to assist in peacekeeping.

A message was sent to the communist regime: "You have already surrendered to Queen Catharine and her Covenant. You are in violation of this surrender. Do not make us intervene. Stand down your military and surrender to Korean and UN forces and your leadership will live."

Re: Bangladeshi Civil War
A message was sent back indicating a leadership purge effectively nullified the previous surrender, as no surviving officials from the last government were in a position to enact serious change. As such, the government would not surrender.
