The United Nations
Re: The United Nations
"Your military was engaged in active combat with another nation. Your fleet was attacked as part of this adventure. What is it that you want the UN to do about this?"
Re: The United Nations
Dong Yin said nothing. One of his staffers muttered something under his breath in Hokkien, too quietly to be picked up by the microphone, a phrase which would probably be most accurately translated into english as "play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

Re: The United Nations
"We withdrew our forces and were heading home in a peaceful manner; we had even declared our intent to leave. In what rational world is it acceptable for a withdrawing force to be attacked without provocation or warning? The implication is clear - one of the so-called peacekeepers deliberately attacked and destroyed our navy, which in the eyes of our Kingdom is contrary to the intention of this forum and the peacekeeping forces in the first place. What peace is gained by killing thousands of sailors who were going home to their families?"

Syria, Mexico, Vietnam, Chad, and Norway echo the sentiment behind India's words, and propose a formal UN investigation into the matter.

Re: The United Nations
"Your reasoning is flawed. There are more nations here with submarines than those of us who are part of peacekeeping. However, Victoria agrees that an investigation is worthwhile. We don't foresee much coming from it, but we do agree that those who are clearly removing themselves from a conflict should be allowed to do so. We caution, however, all nations here: if you engage in conflict, you shouldn't expect to escape without harm. Regardless of our ideals, there will remain bad actors in the world for some time to come."

The majority of the UN member states agree to begin an investigation. Finland, Georgia, Japan, Sumatra, Ecuador, Manitoba and Hungary are selected to handle the investigation.

Re: The United Nations
Given recent events, Korea puts forth the motion that Iran be sanctioned for their wanton acts of aggression; and that a UNDF force be assembled both to assist Kuwait and its allies in their fight and, if necessary, cripple Iran's war-making ability directly should they continue to refuse to back down.
Re: The United Nations
Victoria supports this proposal.
Re: The United Nations
Iran will defend herself to the bitter end, and reminds the world of the attempted victorian genocide of Iran's citizens. But then, iran had no doubt that this would occur. Representative Kobra takes a cyanide capsule in the middle of the UN assembly as an act of protest.

Re: The United Nations
The Victorian representative is clearly at a loss for words at the suicide of the Iranian representative. After several shocked moments, they gathered themself together and spoke shakily to the rest of the UN, "It's clear that Iranian leadership has become... unhinged. When last Victoria and Iran clashed, we did not even inflict Judgment on them, and simply defeated them militarily. And now that they're at war because of their own actions in a foreign nation, they take to declarations of unceasing defence, and public suicide.
"It's clear that we, as a global organization, must join together to save Iran's people from their own deranged leadership. And if this body fears Victorian actions in Iran? Victoria will pledge not to land a single soldier on Iranian soil when the UNDF goes in to remove this rogue state."

Following the Iranian representative's suicide, members of the SRA's 4th Infantry Division quickly removed the body, clearing out the chambers for a temporary recess. The body was prepared to be shipped back to Iran following the presumed conflict.
