Indian-Omani War
Within hours of the declaration from Oman, the Kingdom of India declared in a diplomatic missive that this communist takeover was illegal, and that vital trade with the Kingdom of Oman had been disrupted. Furthermore, it claimed, the new communist government had murdered the King of Oman, brother-in-law to King Karamchand. Obviously this crime could not go unpunished, and therefore the Royal Indian Navy and Air Force have been dispatched to clear the way for an amphibious assault, which would allow the Royal Indian Army to overthrow the overthrowers.
---
In response, the newly-organized Socialist Republic of Oman, with a rather shaky grip on its military, proclaimed it would see the Indian invaders repelled and promised to sink the prize of the Indian fleet in battle, while calling upon all Socialist and Communist nations to aid Oman in its time of need.
---
Rather unfortunately for the Kingdom of India, the naval war did not get off to an auspicious start. A storm cut down both visibility and interfered with the modern search radars on Indian craft, restricting them to visual sighting only. The Omani Red Navy, hastily renamed from its monarchist moniker, kept out of the storm and waited for the oncoming Indian Navy. After all, they had declared their intent to come, so let them come. As the Royal Indian Navy broke out from the storm, it immediately found itself under long-range naval gunfire from WWII-era Omani ships, including a series of battleships broadly similar to the Russian Gangut-class. The RIN desperately attempted to launch fighters, but found their efforts hampered by a fire that broke out on the flight deck of the INS Vikramaditya. Meanwhile, the exchange of gunfire soon ended and was replaced by a hailstorm of missiles from the Indian ships that slammed into the Omani ships, wrecking outright several destroyers that barely even had a chance to attempt to maneuver out of the way, but not before they could launch torpedoes into the Indian battle line. Explosions, leaking fuel, and smoke pooled around the Arabian Sea as the fight raged on, with the Indian Navy finding itself incredibly frustrated with the actions of her naval commanders. A disaster was looming unless a bold captain took command of this situation and turned this chaotic brawl around.

Re: Indian-Omani War
As news broke of the growing naval conflict, the Socialist Republic Navy surged forth. The SRN's Second Fleet, fresh from shakedown cruises and training missions, sailed to the Arabian Sea, refueling in Victoria on their way. As the way was led by the SRN's newest battleship, the SRS New York, the message that came with it was clear - Oman would be protected by the SRA, in solidarity with the new government.

Iran declares war on India and her navy, to safeguard the revolution.
Iran commits what has been quoted as "A fucking tonne" of aircraft to the situation. No fly zones are designated out to 300km of the Omanian coast.
Iranian submarines have already begun shadowing the indian fleet...
[I will post more stuff here soon. cabinet meetings and so on.]

Re: Indian-Omani War
The Victorian Foreign Ministry made an open broadcast rejecting Iran's no-fly zone, as it interfered with Victorian access from the Indian Ocean to Kuwait. A warning was issued to the Iranians that any attempt to interfere with Victorian aircraft would be taken as an act of war.

Re: Indian-Omani War
The Kingdom of India rejects the Iranian no-fly zone and will continue to operate militarily. If Indian forces are fired upon by the Iranian air force, a state of war will exist between Iran and the Kingdom of India.
Re: Indian-Omani War
A Victorian civilian passanger aircraft, taking off from the Indian Islands Province, was on a flight path that took it through the Iranian no-fly zone. The aircraft was clearly marked as civilian, utilized a civilian model of aircraft, and there was a broadcast warning that it was a civilian flight and no threat.
