People's Republic of Iran

There was always a hope for peace.
In Mashhad, when the self-styled United States of Asia had emerged, those in eastern Iran watched with mixed fear and anxiety. The nation may have been under quarantine, but it was not blind and deaf to the words emanating from Tehran. The communists in the East had listened to the fire and brimstone speeches of their neighbors, grand declarations that their entire system was corrupt, sick, twisted, all the while preparing their rifles and keeping close watch for when the day of invasion came.
In 1957, when the world seemed consumed by the fires of war elsewhere in the world, the rise of a new Socialist republic just across the border sparked jubilation. After all, they were fellow Socialists, comrades-in-arms, were they not? Surely there was no need for violence between two fellow members of the revolution.
Surely.

Dawn rose and shone light upon the first through third iranian armoured divisions. the mighty IS-2's would be the spearhead into the PRI, and soon be overtaken by the faster and nimbler T-34/85's. Mujahideen, unbeknownst to the people's republic, had been hiking into the hills and desert, and performing their covert ruminations.
The artillery was brought to bear upon the land, and with the rumble of accurately placed artillery fire, the war began. Senman was hit first, a border city near the IPR's border with the PRI's.
Two hundred fighters and one hundred bombers secured and assaulted the airspace.
most everything else was held in reserve near the border, to ensure the deed was to be done properly.

OOC: In their attacks, Iran rolled a 10 for ground attacks and a 7 for air attacks. This results in 3 points of ground losses, 4 points of ground damages, 2 points of air losses, and 3 points of air damage for the Iranian NPN.
IC: First contact as dawn broke proved deadly as the Iranian border guard encountered an encroaching invasion force. This prompted an immediate response from Iranian military, which mobilized their fighters to begin contesting incoming enemy airpower. The militamen which had been tasked with watching the border proved to be overwhelmed immediately, as did the old early-WWII armor that accompanied them, though hope was not lost. The Iranian military still had at its back some 1,200 tanks of varying quality and usefulness, thousands of guns, and nearly 240,000 soldiers prepared to lay down their lives for the revolution. Counter-battery barrages began almost the second that enemy artillery began to fall, combined with a withdrawal to more secure defensive lines in the mountains.
Though the enemy had managed to destroy several squadrons of Iranian fighters and clipped more than a few wings, the "true believers of the Revolution" as they stylized themselves, dared their comrades from the south to engage them in the mountains.
OOC: NPN Iran took the following casualties:
2 points militia lost
1 point armor lost
4 points artillery damaged
2 points fighters lost
3 points fighters damaged
This leaves 4 points of armor, 7 points of artillery (4 damaged), 7 points of infantry, 2 points of mechanized, and 10 points of fighters (3 damaged) in their sole territory.
In their counterattacks, the Iran NPN rolled a 3 for ground actions and an 8 for air actions. This results in 2 points of ground losses, 3 points of ground damages, and 1 point each of air losses and damages on Player Iran.

A small fleet of long distance aircraft heavily laden with supplies, and very clearly marked with red crosses, departed from Victoria for the conflict between the Irans. They were escorted to the edge of Iranian airspace by Victorian Royal Army Pilot Service craft, which broke away before the civilian craft continued on toward the conflict zone.
A broadcast was sent to both combatants along with the transports: "Under protection of Her Majesty Queen Catharine al Victoria, these aircraft are to provide relief and aid to the civilians caught in this conflict. Do no harm to them, and no harm will be done to you. Repeat, this is a humanitarian mission which will be providing mercy and medical aid to civilians harmed in the ongoing conflict. Queen Catharine al Victoria guarantees the safety of all red cross workers."
True to their word, the aircraft found landing sites where they could and deployed aid workers to begin treating the civilians who would be dismissed as collateral damage by the nations engaged in battle.

Iran will take 2 points of losses on its militia, and 3 damage on the remaining militia, and 1 point of fighter damage and 1 point of loss on bombers.
Narrative
Hadji Murad overlooked the battlefield. every member of every family in iran just took a loss. but perhaps, it was necessary. The bodies stank, and were preyed upon by vultures before long.
"God help us in this, our time, our cause is just, and we pray for a swift victory."
Military
Ground
The number of units being used in the battle.
-- Following up with mechanized infantry, MTLB's, The remainder of the armour, (IS-2's and T-34's) 5 points of infantry, 2 points of armour (raising total to 5),
The terrain/location that they’re fighting in.
--The outskirts of Senman, Iran, for now.
The tactics that they’re using to achieve their goals.
-- attacking and outflanking, the mechanized army and tanks is split in two, and hooks around senman as hammers, backed up by the infantry and artillery as an anvil advancing directly to the city, and shelling military targets.
Air
The number of units being used in the battle.
160 fighters (4 points) of MIG 15's scream out of the sky, to meet the opposing F86's.
this is followed up by 80 bombers (4 points) (Tupolev TU-2's). the remaining point of fighters is retreated for repairs.
The terrain they’re attacking or operating within, and the weather.
The harsh desert sun of the sky burns down on the revolution.
The tactics that they’re using to achieve their goals.
To achieve localized superiority, the fighters begin combat air patrols over the sky of Senman, while the bombers do their work against NPN Iran's armour.

OOC: In their attacks, Player Iran rolled a 3 for ground actions and a 2 for air actions. This results in:
5 points of ground losses (3 additional from bombing campaign)
6 points of ground damages (3 additional from bombing campaign)
5 points of air losses
6 points of air damages
6 points of Industry losses
6 points of Industry damages
IC: The result of the Iranian pincer was impressive indeed. The Eastern Iranian republic, unable to cope with a combined and lightning-quick offensive, turned to their final bastion in Mashhad in order to consolidate their forces and prepare a final defense for when all else failed. Diplomacy clearly was not on the minds of their western counterparts, and after the brutal slaughter shown in the previous month of combat that saw dozens of Iranian units destroyed and declared combat-ineffective, none could deny that blood was in the air. Though, if nothing else, the Victorian aid brought with the slaughter a sense of hope - perhaps the Victorians could be convinced to aid in the plight of the Eastern Iranian people. A missive was sent to them, pleading for any and all assistance to be rendered in the hopes of persuading their brothers in Tehran that this sort of violence was not necessary.

Queen Catharine al Victoria heard the pleas from the Eastern Iranian people. She looked at the conflict that had spread between the two Irans, and she found herself facing a familiar disappointment. She gave the order that all in her court had come to expect, and come to dread.
The Seraphim flew over the empty air of quarantined nations with full escort, and as they came upon the last bastion of the Eastern Iranians a simple message was sent: “Surrender or face Judgment.”
The Victorian aid workers had all withdrawn from the area of Mashhad before the arrival of the Seraphim, but they’d made sure that the Easterners knew what Judgment meant. If they were foolhardy enough to face it, their city would burn. And the aid workers would be near enough to rescue those few who survived the fires.
In the meantime, Foreign Secretary Grace al Ramogi sent a missive to the victorious southern Iranians informing them of Victoria’s actions, and that Eastern Iran would be handed to them after either a surrender or Judgment.

The message back was not at all what was anticipated, or even expected.
Despite the quarantine, not a single soul was foolish enough to be unaware as to the severity of the Victorian message. The rumors had sustained even in the halls of Mashhad - those who dared to say "no" when the Victorians told them to surrender or face Judgement typically did not live long enough to make that mistake a second time. The choice was almost made for them - the Republic could not stem the tide from the West, nor did anyone delude themselves into believing that the Victorians would allow them to survive.
In the end, the soldiers had been ordered to lay down their arms, and surrender peacefully.
There would be no Judgment, no Fire of Seraphim, and no independent eastern Iranian republic.
