A message was sent to the Irish foreign minister;
To whom it may concern,
The SRA is interested in meeting with the Irish people following the recent revolution. We can host an Irish delegation here in Washington, or an American delegation can be sent to Ireland upon your wishes. Please indicate as soon as possible, for we believe the Irish and American people can help one another.
Sincerely,
Secretary of State Colin Sharp

A prompt reply was returned to America,
To Secretary of State Colin Sharp;
We concur with your assessment, Mr. Secretary. Ambassador Rórdán Klimek will shortly be dispatched to meet with your people in Washington. May this meeting prove fortuitous for us both in these tumultuous times.
Regards,
Minister of Interior George Gilmore

A message was sent back indicating the meeting place, which was to be the Hotel Lustig in downtown Washington D.C. Just by the looks, it was impossible to imagine this part of the country had faced a war, given that there scarcely remained a scar of the artillery, bombing runs, or Victorian intervention that had saved the Socialist military. Inside the Hotel Lustig, lined with the trappings of modern Socialist luxury, a meeting room was cleared away and secured by Socialist Republic Marines ahead of the affair. When the Irish ambassador arrived, he was met by Secretary Sharp and a gentleman in a trim gray suit, with a collection of pastries and hors d'oeuvres ready for anyone who wished to partake in them. Coffee, tea and water were also available, with whatever modifications like cream, sugar and lemon on hand.
"Mr. Ambassador," Secretary Colin Sharp said, shaking hands with his counterpart, "Secretary Sharp here, this is Ambassador Jason Armbruster, who will be dispatched to Ireland following this meeting. Please, partake in what you wish. I am sure your flight here has been long - how was it? No difficulty landing in Dulles, I expect?"

After a nod to Sharp and his own introduction to Armbruster, Klimek secured a black cup of coffee he immediately began to nurse. "Aye, a long flight indeed, but a smooth reception." He paused for a heavy sip, then continued, punctuating his sentences with coffee. "The fine reconstruction efforts you've accomplished here are impressive. The task in Ireland is not so easy as yours, though. Our scars are in our people rather than our land and were laid by the hand of oppression rather than division. But in the matters of healing our nations and saving our people from tyrannies such as capital, we share a common understanding." He finished alongside his cup, "So, what is it you wished to discuss?"

"We in Atlanta are interested primarily in a trade agreement to ensure the flow of goods and services between our countries - our nations must, of course, help each other as much as we can - as well as a potential strategic alliance. It is no secret that Korea and China both hold anti-Communist sentiments, and we fear our comrades in the People's Republic of China may soon find themselves under threat. Therefore, we in Atlanta are planning on expanding our alliances, and we believe with Iranian, Chinese, Soviet and potentially even Vietnamese help, the international revolution can succeed and even extend. This alliance may secure not just our own futures, but the futures of countless others."

"I see. A trade agreement would be favourable," he said, acquiring a fresh cup, "but Ireland is not renowned for her might, as such the terms of an alliance between our nations would be limited, though I cannot deny interest in pursuing some sort of agreement. Any deal must be approved by the Oireachtas, and we are not interested in fighting other people's wars nor do we harbour fears of asia, you understand. Nothing more than mutual defense would be likely make it through, however I believe the establishment of embassies between our nations would allow us the room to forge a deal agreeable to us both, and I believe it could pave the way to a valuable friendship."

"Yes, an excellent point. Atlanta does not see a need for an offensive alliance at this time, primarily due to the reasons you have outlined - just as the Irish people do not look for war, the American people do not seek it either. Atlanta is more interested in collective mutual defense, since we are stronger together than we are divided. The distances between our nations may be great, but the potential strength in the largest Communist and Socialist states of the world combined is not one to be overlooked. As far as embassies, I will ensure one is properly prepared in Atlanta for Ireland."

A letter was delivered to the American embassy, expressing an offer to, in a spirit of international socialist co-operation and with a desire to bring the war to a swift close and decisive victory, particularly in light of... recent events, provide an expeditionary force of air and land assets to the SRA for the war in the Rockies.

Vice President Connally personally replied to the letter, graciously accepting Irish assistance and stating that Irish forces were welcome to utilize bases in the Kansas Socialist Republic as a staging ground to assist against the Rocky Federation.
