ATLANTA, GA - News from the United States of Asia reaches the halls of Georgia with a degree of confusion and anger, as to be expected when a nation declares an entire bloc of ideologically-similar nations as "not to be trusted". When asked of the situation at a recent press conference, Secretary of State Wesley Marchegiano said,
"More often than not, the outsiders are suspect, and blame is assigned upon them no matter what. While I am disappointed some of our comrades have had a less-than-pure intent when they arrived at our meeting which led to this breach of trust in fellow Communists, we in Atlanta are not in the habit of declaring enemies wantonly. The United States of Asia can keep its markets, the American economy can maintain her own oil supplies without the fields from Iran. Any other bluster they may blow our way is merely that - the fading echoes of an administration that seeks enemies at every corner."
This paper notes that despite vowing to block Communist trade through the Turkish straits, the Socialist states present in that region do not conduct trade with the SRA owing primarily to the quarantine they are still under. SRA and Soviet trade lines do not flow through the Straits, either. Furthermore, the declaration seems more like a unilateral wish, given the region has only recently been contested aerially by Romanian bomber forces and remains firmly under control of the West Turkish military. What the USA seeks to gain from such a declaration is unknown to The Atlanta Post beyond causing a general murmur of indignation among Communists. Certainly - there is no SRA trade to be disrupted.
Oddly enough as well, the USA's president seems convinced that all parties present at the meeting spoke of existential threats, when the SRA's own notes - released last weekend ahead of this article - display President Wood and Secretary of State Marchegiano promoting peaceful coexistence with the capitalist states of the world alongside China's delegation, which claimed a similar line. This paper believes the statements from the Soviet and Barovian delegations concerning, an attitude apparently shared by members of President Wood's cabinet according to an unnamed source, and yet the actions of the Soviets and Barovians are a far cry from the anti-SRA rhetoric displayed by the USA's president this past month.
Perhaps the USA's fears are justified, if one is inclined to believe reports of growing Soviet revanchism. Or, perhaps more likely, the USA is seeking enemies where they do not exist.
MIAMI, FL - Already, progress of the Two-Year Plan is showing dividends! Unemployment in Florida is down 7 per cent from last year, reaching a record low of 6 per cent overall. New factories dedicated to building the consumer goods necessary for the continued success and comfort the American people have grown accustomed to spring up all across Florida, as new automobiles roll off the production lines. The economy of the Socialist Republics is growing, and had it not been for the success of President Wood's Two-Year Plan, our economy would not rival that of even the strongest capitalist state! All naysayers within the Socialist Republics should take note - communism works!
