Cases of the German Flu have been confirmed in the former Ugandan rebel state. Queen Catharine has ordered all affected areas quarantined until the Victorian Red Cross can confirm that the disease has been eradicated once again. Victorian military forces in the quarantined Provinces of East Kenya, Central Uganda, and North Uganda will assist the Red Cross in providing aid to those in need.
Pacification Soldiers, already equipped with NBC protective equipment, will deliver food and medical supplies to infected areas. The Red Cross will be issued with similar equipment so that aid workers can continue to operate in the infected areas.
Citizens are ordered to remain in their homes, or at Red Cross provided shelters. The Red Cross and the Victorian military will provide all necessary supplies and care. Citizens attempting to violate the quarantine will be given one warning, then executed.
Distribution centres are to be established in Nairobi, Victoria, and Mbarara. Lesser distribution centres will be established as needed based on population, geography, and the spread of the disease. Centres and distributors will provide food, medicine, hygiene products, gloves and masks, and a radio. The provided radios will be tuned to the national emergency news station so that citizens may remain updated on the status of the German Flu outbreak.

The Victorian Royal Bank has analysed the latest economic data following the defeat of fascist Romania, and the Moldovan referendum, and has found that trust in Victoria's ability to protect its investments and interests has risen sharply. As a result the Royal Bank predicts that foreign investment in the economy will increase. Victorian Houses are expected to gain access to new markets as well, particularly with the end of quarantines in several regions. The Royal Bank projects significant growth of the economy as a result.

The Kingdoms of Victoria and Tabora celebrated this weekend when their monarchs were joined in marriage. Queen Catharine al Victoria became wed to King Atieno al Tabora, integrating Victoria’s sister nation into itself in the process. The wedding was hosted in the Royal Towers in the capital of Dar es Salaam. The heads of Victoria’s many Houses, and the heads of Tabora’s new Houses, were in attendance.
The event was notable for the execution of the Taboran traitor General Sefu bin Said, along with the officers loyal to him. The Taboran traitors were given a ritual death by Judgment during the wedding, and their ashes were spread across the dance floor for Queen Catharine and King Atieno and others to dance in.
The wedding ended in the throne room, where the Throne of Mercy joined the Throne of Judgment. The Queen and King, resplendent in sun and moon themed regalia, heard cases brought to them by the people of Victoria and Tabora.

Victoria today celebrated the opening of the Museum for Cultural Heritage. The museum includes several pieces that were previously held by foreign nations, which have been donated to the museum by private collectors. Queen Catharine herself made an appearance at the opening and praised the generosity of the individuals who donated the artifacts to the Victorian public.

In honour of Victoria's new King, Atieno al Tabora, Queen Catharine al Victoria has declared that 1963 shall be a Year of Mercy. Any citizen may petition the Throne of Mercy for leniency. This can take the form of forgiven debts, commuted prison sentences, and any other way in which the monarchy can intervene in order to make life more bearable. Petitions on behalf of others are allowed, and even non-citizen petitions will be heard in special circumstances.

The invasion of Tabora was undertaken by the WHIP, under Victoria's leadership, in order to put an end to the continuing German Flu outbreaks within Victoria's southern neighbour. Currently no one is allowed to exit Tabora until they have been held within quarantine for a period longer than the flu's incubation and infection periods. Citizens who pass through quarantine are allowed on their way, with instructions to contact the Red Cross if they develop any flu symptoms at a later date. Those who show any symptoms during their time in quarantine are redirected to hospitals maintained by the Red Cross.

A week after her ascent to the Throne of Salvation, Queen Catharine al Victoria has named Colonel Khadija al Daimon to the royal family. Ms. Khadija will now be known as Khadija al Victoria, and will be given the title of Princess. She will sit upon the Throne of Judgment as the Queen's designated heir.
Princess Khadija is a veteran commander of the Pacification Squads, and has seen action during the Liberation War, Romanian War, Turkish Intervention, Kenyan Unification, Taboran Unification, and most recently in the Kazakh and French Interventions.
