Victorians rejoice at the successful intervention of the Royal Army Pilot Service in the conflict between the Socialist Republics of America and the United States of America. The SRA’s forces took significant losses fighting Americans near the city of Columbia, and were in a vulnerable position for an American counter attack. The RAPS provided critical support to the SRA and enacted the Judgment of the Seraphim upon the city of Columbia, eliminating the remaining American military present there.

Victorian infantry were airlifted to the former United States, and now occupy three key cities there. The cities of Philadelphia, Long Beach, and Wilmington are now under the control of the Pacification forces of Victoria. Construction of Victorian military bases near these cities is underway.

Additionally, the Foreign Ministry has reported the founding of House America, an umbrella House for Victorians working in the SRA. Military Houses involved in the occupation of the former United States have been given preference in applying for client status to House America.

Victorian citizens and expats living and working in the SRA have taken to the streets of Atlanta to celebrate this victory. Reports from Atlanta indicate confusion, as Socialist news reports that the victory over the former United States was achieved by SRA forces with only minimal assistance. Victorian embassy staff in Atlanta have begun providing Victorian newspapers free of charge to the Socialists in order to clear up the confusion. Whether this will damage relations with the SRA is yet to be seen.

Queen Catharine al Victoria has ordered the construction of a new memorial city on the site of Kampala. The city, to be known as Victoria, will incorporate memorials to the dead. Victoria is to be a city of peace, and a city of sanctuary. It will provide free housing to any victim of the Kampala bombings and will be home to hospitals, libraries, and universities hosted by House Victoria. These facilities will be open to the citizenry free of charge.

When asked for a comment, Queen Catharine herself stated, "War requires horrible sacrifice. The least we can do is remember its costs, and ensure that our lives in peacetime are worthy of them."

[Military Orders]
Royal Army Maritime Service vessels under command of Colonel Issaya have been ordered to the Atlantic Ocean. The vessels are to patrol the Atlantic and maintain peace and order. Royal Air Pilot Service Seraphim are to join in patrolling the Atlantic.

RAMS vessels under command of Colonel Lukala, along with RAPS Seraphim, are ordered to patrol the Indian Ocean and maintain peace and order.

The Royal Army Pilot Service has commissioned the construction of an additional 100 BGS-55 Seraphim bombers. The first of these units, 60 in total, will be made available to the RAPS in 1960. The second batch of production, the remaining 40 units, will be completed and in service in 1961.

Queen Catharine al Victoria has commissioned the construction of two new twin towers in the city of Dar es Salaam. One tower will host the nation’s largest mosque, along with a museum for the Kingdom’s Islamic history. The second tower will host a non-denominational cathedral, and sister museum for the nation’s Christian heritage. Both towers will share libraries, a new university, and community amenities. Access to the “Towers of God”, as they’ve come to be referred to, will be completely free of charge to all citizens of Victoria. Tourists will be charged a small fee to help maintain the Towers and their works.

Queen Catharine al Victoria has ordered a formal organization of the nation into a series of Provinces. Each Province has a capital city, and the Queen has ordered the construction of a Royal Tower in each capital city. A branch of House Victoria will reside in the Provincial Royal Tower as the Provincial Governor. Governors are to be appointed by Her Majesty directly, and will be adopted into House Victoria as part of their duties.

The Provinces and their capitals are: East Tanzania (Dar es Salaam), West Kenya (Mombasa), East Kenya (Nairobi), Central Uganda (Victoria), North Uganda (Mbarara), and the Indian Islands Province (Malé).

The Royal Army has ordered the construction of an advanced military training academy in the East Tanzania Province. Secondary facilities are to be constructed in Central Uganda and West Kenya Provinces.

The Senate has passed legislation decriminalizing homosexuality and granting homosexual citizens the full rights of all Victorians. The vote was largely split along alliance lines, however, the Victoria’s Legion party and members of the National Union party crossed the aisle to vote with their Liberal Alliance counterparts. Queen Catharine is expected to sign the legislation into law when it reaches her desk.

The bill faced significant resistance from the Traditional Alliance party, which brought the Queen’s Union alliance to bear against it. Former First Minister Michael al Osano has decried the bill as “an erosion of our culture, and an acceptance of the depravities of the Europeans who colonized us”.

Aid workers in the former Eastern Iranian Republic have confirmed the presence of German Flu in the fallen nation. The Victorian Red Cross workers have volunteered to remain in the infected areas, so as not to break quarantine, and to offer treatment to those in need. Her Majesty, Queen Catharine al Victoria, has ordered additional medical supplies to be airlifted to the aid workers.

She has, additionally, put out a call for volunteers to enter the infected areas and treat those in need. Volunteers will be inducted into an exclusive House and will receive significant hazard pay.

“We cannot allow the German Plague to reenter the world,” Queen Catharine said at a press conference, “Victoria will do all that we can to treat the disease where it is, and enforce a quarantine on infected areas. I hope other nations of the world will join us in this worthy endeavour.”

The Royal Army Pilot Service has deployed significant assets to the region to provide assistance to the aid workers, as well as to enforce a no-fly zone. Victorian Pacification soldiers have also been prepared to deploy if need be to enforce the quarantine.
