Fireside chats from Shirman Al Khan [People's republic of Iran news.]

Post by DARKSEID »

From the office of Shirman Al Khan.

Good day and good welcome citizens. It has been a rough road these past few months, but rest assured, your leaders are hard at work doing what is best for the revolution. In order to promote our interests both at home and abroad, I've put my cabinet to work towards securing our borders. We will see soon the fruits of our labour. It will take a generation or more to truly embrace socialism, but until the time when all are equal, we must aggressively pursue equality for all people.

To this end, the vanguard of the revolution, the mujahideen, will be deployed everywhere the revolution needs them.

Military spending:
It's no secret our military might has been on display in the past week. The military parade in Tehran last week was glorious, and I do enjoy seeing our newly minted artillery regiments on display. Perhaps you have seen them. The great questions of this age will not be answered with words. they will be answered with shells, with tanks, with guns, and with the revolution.

Let your revolutionary fervor flow like the mighty Karun River!

Foreign diplomacy:
We are attempting to find allies in this war torn world, and it seems they are far away. We have reached out to the Socialist Republic of America, though we still wait a response. The XIV army clique warrants caution. we will be monitoring their progress in their war, and give updates to you when they arise.

additionally, we are observing the situation in the East African Kingdom and Uganda. We condemn this blatant imperialist exercise.

Good welcome citizens. No doubt many of you are wondering why there is war with another socialist state.

We are not tyrants. We are not dictators. Our country is not a dictatorship.

And neither should theirs.

We are only truly equal if our ideology is equal.

To be ideologically pure, we must expunge our worse natures.
To those opposed, you are felt, and understood.
But to those that would understand me, understand this:
We bury capitalism with all of us working against that.
And they are against our freedom to do this thing. Our revolution is a world revolution. They are part of this world. And they are against our part of this world.

Working men of all nations, UNITE!
The Iranian people's republic will accept you with open arms.

Our will is strong.
And to those opposed...
We will bury you.

In Tehran, Shirman al Khan was about to take his first actions as the head of the newly united Iran.
The involvement of the east african kingdom was a surprise, and while not necessarily unwelcome, it was not entirely welcome either.

“Good welcome and greetings citizens. The State loves you. The State is always watching. The State knows you. I have here the best news I can give now: The Iranian people's front has surrendered unconditionally. Amnesty is given to those that took up arms against The People's Republic.

However, I have dire news for us all: The German Flu has returned, and outbreaks are reported around the country – I have already begun attempting to quarantine this. Members of our armed forces, dressed head to toe in gas mask and hazmat suits are being sent to test for the disease. Give to them your full cooperation. We are all in this together, and we must remain vigilant against this threat. Remember that they are there to help, wherever Iranians need them.

The East African Kingdom has declared a no-fly zone about the area, and we are acquiescing to this for now, as the flu threatens all humanity.

Be safe in your homes citizens. The revolution has achieved purity.

This is Shirman Al Khan signing out."

Shirman Al Khan was surrounded by his generals, Ali, Hassan, Talam, and Admiral Mashar.

“We have a choice, gentlemen” shirman began. “Either the revolution stops here, or we begin the world revolution. The international may yet unite the human race. And yet, I must know: what do you make of Iraq?”

General Ali spoke first. “Shirman, the world needs the revolution. Iraq is no different. A billion souls cry out to be saved, millions in Iraq. A few short weeks may be all we need. What's more, we have a new enemy. The Ahsa confederation represents an existential threat to all we hold dear.”

General Hassan spoke: “We have a choice. Our land army is vast, but our navy is small by comparison. It is no match, fleet to fleet, for the navy of Ahsa. But for the land, well, we would have an advantage. We're about equal in air power.”

Shirman spoke to Admiral Mashar. “How are your submarines?”

Admiral Mashar stood upright, and at attention. “Our submarines are diesel electric, silent, and deadly. Ahsa brings far too much to be dealt with yet... Frankly, we need to build up what we've got. I can't guarantee success in the sea, but defense should be doable.”

“The budget will approve your expansion. I'm not about to begin aggressively promoting the revolution until such time as we are ready. We cannot afford to engage a war we aren't prepared for. I make these moves because I fear if we do not act what we have worked so hard to create may be dashed before we can truly appreciate our own experiment in socialism.”

“Talam. How are the preparations for the air force going? You suffered the most losses out of our branches in the war with our new brothers.”
“The airfleet is fully restored, but we do not have the numbers beyond parity with Ahsa.”

“Good. If we are to bring the fight to them, we must do so through the air, first. We will not squander you like the nazis did in England. But we do need you to fly some sorties over there.”

Talam nodded. Overall, the campaign in the north had gone well. He hoped to repeat the success.

“We will send an ultimatum to Iraq in the next year. We will settle things then. We can expect Ahsa to retaliate, but we'll be ready for them.” Shirman motioned for the meeting to be adjourned.

To you, our great people,

I hope Christmas brings to you all great happiness, and I am eminently pleased to report that with a massive 84% ((OOC: I rolled 84 :D)) of the vote, My own personal presidency has been increased another 6 years. I thank you, the Iranian public, for this impressive, glowing report card on my own performance as president. I was expecting far worse, given some apparent failures, or stagnations of the revolution. But perhaps, the people have realized it takes time to build socialism.

There are great things in store for our glorious nation, and we are pleased to report the full and final outfitting of our Fleet Aircraft carriers, brought to our great nations by our friends far away in the west.

We must ever be on our guard however. We are monitoring the situation in the Arabian sea, and we do not intend to remain idle if people are being massacred. We will be deploying observers to report the situation in the various Indias, soon.

I have good news regarding the war against Britain: at the cost of only a small portion of the fleet, Our brothers in socialism have claimed revenge for the invasion of 1940 by the British. We will not be exacting revenge against the soviet union, however. I understand your anger, but if the second world war has taught us anything... any invasion to the far north will require far too many resources to prosecute. We will be therefore normalizing our relationship.

In solidarity, Let socialism triumph.
Shirman Al Khan signing out.
