ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ESTABLISHED
ATLANTA, GA - Congress, under President van Baarle and VP Connally's initiative, have created the Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, whose purpose is to act as a catch-all organization for the current environmental standards and regulations that the federal government already handles. Under this agency, future endeavors meant to protect the natural beauty of the SRA and study the impact that the Revolution brings upon the American land, such as increased industrialization, will be handled by the men and women of this brave agency rather than multiple redundant and temporary federal agencies. Concerns are running rampant in the Socialist Republics about pollution, of the dirty air that taints New York's skyline and Georgia's mountaintops, and it is the hope of the American people that this new agency, designed to combat the ills of pollution and industrial waste, can preserve the SRA's beauty for future Americans to enjoy for centuries to come.

CONGRESS APPROVES NATIONWIDE RAILWAY ACT
ATLANTA, GA - Congress voted this week to revamp the nation's railways, establishing the National Railroad Passenger Corporation to expand service to all parts of the Socialist Republics. Under this new Corporation, headed by a committee of men from major American railways, passenger services have been taken out of the hands of individual American companies such as Burlington Northern, Union Pacific, Penn Central, and Norfolk Southern to provide more efficient and streamlined service. Also included in this Act has been a general plan to revamp and renovate the confusing, competing layout of American railway systems and provide a unified plan to ensure passenger and freight service continues smoothly in the future. Further improvements to American railway lines also come with electrification, which thanks to the EPA's intervention, should see a reduction in noxious emissions especially in urban areas where trains operate in close proximity to residential sections. Conflicts between companies over rail lines should not be an issue going forward, and soon the American people expect a return to the golden era of railway travel when it was seen as the pinnacle of luxury. Compared to air travel, which on its own is rather efficient, rail travel has been declining due to incompetent administration and long delays. With this Act, this should be an issue of the past! Take note, comrades - take your car if you want to spend hours on the road, take the plane if you want to be there by noon tomorrow, but take the train if you want to have your needs taken care of and not worry about anything other than what tomorrow brings!

NALOXENE APPROVED BY FDA TO COMBAT OPIOID OVERDOSES
NEW YORK, NY - The Food and Drug Administration today approved the widespread use of Naloxene, popularly known as Narcan, to combat the effects of opioid overdoses in American citizens that have unfortunately fallen prey to the horrors of substance abuse. Naloxene is considered a non-prescription drug and can be obtained by any American citizen at any pharmacy, while American police and paramedics are now required by law to carry at least one dose on their person at all times when on-duty. The knowledge of the science behind Naloxene as well as the processes behind its use have been freely given by the American government to WHIP members for use in their nations.

OUR BOYS ABROAD ONCE MORE - AMERICAN MARINES HEADING TO COMMUNIST CHINA
BEIJING, PRC - In a negotiation agreed upon in Beijing by representatives from the People's Republic of China, the SRA, and the Soviet Union, American marines have officially redeployed to the People's Republic of China to conduct wargames with Chinese troops. Further news confirmed by the State Department shows that American and Soviet personnel are assisting the PRC in containing the German Flu outbreak from their newly acquired territory in Shanxi, with "about a brigade" of volunteers mobilized to head over to China, including doctors, nurses, surgeons and educators fluent in Chinese.
The State Department also confirmed that, due to the conclusion of active combat in France, the 1st Field Army was currently "reorienting" as it settles into bases in northern France.

AMERICAN AIRBORNE IN LONDON - BRITISH MONARCHY CAPTURED BY VICTORIAN MILITARY
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - The Socialist Republic Army's 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions this week landed in London in support of the Victorian military, securing the British halls of Parliament and capturing other strategic points in England. Nearly twenty years after arriving in peace, this year American Airborne arrived in hostility, although it should be noted that the people of England have not raised arms against the occupying American and Victorian forces. The War Department has informed this paper that they do not expect a long-term American deployment in England, and anticipates our boys are coming home by Christmas 1964.

SEVEN AMERICANS CONVICTED IN TRADING SCHEME
CHICAGO, IL - This week, seven American citizens were found Guilty by a jury of their peers. They have been found guilty of embezzlement, misappropriation of public funds, insider trading, and falsification of official documents. The men involved were reportedly investing in various state-owned enterprises with their wages, and claimed to have invested in smaller private ventures that supposedly were gaining no economic benefit as according to documents they submitted to state and local governments. In reality, they were investing in each other and hoarding the funds, and planned to divorce their wives in order to pay extremely little in the settlement to keep a vast sum of money for themselves. For their crimes, the main members have been given 3 years in jail and are ordered to pay their ill-gotten gains to the American people, while the ringleader has been given 7 years in prison and is no longer allowed by law to participate in stock trading within the SRA.

VICTORIAN, INDIAN MONARCHS ON WARPATH - REJECT PEACE OVERTURES IN FAVOR OF VIOLENCE AND BLOODSHED
WASHINGTON D.C - The halls of the United Nations were filled with heated arguments today as the Victorian and Indian representatives, who carry the word of their sovereigns with them, rejected proposed ceasefires from the Soviet Union, People's Republic of China and SRA wholesale. The violent, bloodthirsty monarchs in Victoria and India deny peace only to bring further chaos and destroy good Communist lives in Oman and Iran. Comrades! Join the Navy today! Sign up to combat the cruel Indians who claim to fight for a holy mission but deliberately shell Omani fishing villages for sick, twisted fun! Do your duty to protect your comrades across the world!
VICE PRESIDENT CONNALLY ANNOUNCES 1966 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN
NEW YORK, NY - In a war bonds rally in Manhattan, Vice President Alexander Connally announced that he would begin campaigning to seek the office of President in the 1966 Socialist Republics election. His popularity among the East Coast and Midwest is strong, though some political experts in Atlanta doubt the willingness of the American people to see a continued turnover of vice presidents to presidents. These rumors have confirmed that President van Baarle is not seeking a third term.

GENERAL MARKWARDT DESCRIBES PROGRESS AS "EXCELLENT", CLAIMS TROOPS HOME BY CHRISTMAS
LAMAR, ROCKY MOUNTAINS - General Joseph Markwardt, while speaking to members of the press at his field headquarters in occupied Confederate territory, stated his firm belief that American service members would be home by Christmas 1965, as well as describing progress against the Confederates as "excellent." Included in his speech to the press was a handout that showed how far American troops had gone in occupying Confederate territory, as well as naming several individuals that he called "key" in securing territory and leading American units forward. "These Confederates have another thing coming to them if they think that America will hold anything back," he is quoted as saying. "I guarantee you, when the 2nd Field Army reaches Arizona, if there's a single Confederate left standing we're going to bomb the hell out of him. We're gonna tear down every sonnuvabitch that wants to raise a gun at us, and we're gonna make damn sure that every Confederate building gets bulldozed. There's no hiding from us."

AID PACKAGE ORGANIZED FOR IRANIAN COMRADES
TEHRAN, IRAN - Following the brutally short conflict in the Middle East, the Socialist Republic of Iran has found itself in economic devastation. Congress, on the urging of the Square Office, has approved a massive bill that has put Americans across the Republics to work to help their Iranian comrades rebuild and recover. Monetary aid, volunteer brigades of workers, and newly-produced goods, machinery, and products are being shipped to Iranian comrades in Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, and Karaj. This comes even as continued draft calls and news from the front in the West march across the Socialist Republics, leading some in Congress to worry whether or not the SRA is properly focusing its efforts. VP Connally said in a written statement concerning the aid package, "[o]ur Iranian friends need us in this time of great distress and ruin. Socialist and Communist nations worldwide must unite and join together, lead the way in showing the world what can be achieved when the common citizen puts aside petty differences and throws off the shackles of capitalistic oppression to work together for the common good. Atlanta and Tehran enjoy a mutually beneficial and close friendship since 1958, and it would be remiss for the American people to stand idly by while fellow Socialists stand in ruin and devastation."
