JiB Open Beta Rules and Resources
Re: JiB Open Beta Rules and Resources
Heyo, so, for this campaign we're going with "one RL month is one game round". At the end of each round, players receive 5 points (i.e.: 23:59 on the last day of the month). These are available to spend in the upcoming round.
All players have access to the same number of points (i.e.: Once the game hits 200 points, new nations/players will have access to 200 points), but begin play with 100 points built and must build up to the maximum using the Industry rules.

Re: JiB Open Beta Rules and Resources
Lo, it is March. This means that the new combat and Industry systems are in play.
What's that mean? Ugh. Explanations. I'm going to copy over the one from Discord!
Combat-
"So. Player puts in a request for annexation. GM opens the thread and lays out the NPN's starting conditions. Player makes their attack. GM reviews the player's post and assigns advantages to the player. Rolls dice and determines how much damage the NPN takes. They then determine the NPN's tactics, and the associated advantages, and roll dice to determine player damages in the NPN's turn. They post this as one post (NPN tactics, advantages assigned, dice roll, casualties for the player). Player makes their next post, and the GM reviews for advantage again, rinse and repeat."
What's that mean? It means that your use of tactics, equipment, and terrain (and other factors) determines the actual range of the dice (0-10). The dice themselves allow for representations of luck, and provide a very quick and easy way to determine casualties without bickering. This is the spreadsheet with the values for damages, losses, and how the Advantage scores plays into it.
Industry-
This was changed from a "units per year" to a "points per round" system. It's pretty close to what it was before, but it allows for GMs to set their rounds at different paces (i.e.: campaigns where a round runs at a speed other than one year). It also meshes with the new combat system's casualties a lot better. It's already in the player nation template's industry tab.
