The defection of Sagal Abdullahi greatly frightened Romanian command, and in doing so, provided the National and Global Intelligence Department (DING) with a much needed boost in popularity. The detailed infiltration operations laid out by the Victorian ex-agent demonstrated that Romania was hopelessly disadvantaged in terms of global intelligence. With Victorian operations having compromised Romanian integrity, and further suspicion of SRA Interference in Moldova and even in Romanian elections, a discrete meeting was called between Vasile Atanasiu and Ion Iliescu, heads of the two largest political factions in Romania.
By taciturn arrangement, a bill was introduced and passed in parliament granting special legal exclusion and a large boost in funds to the DING, while Abdullahi was moved to a secret facility to train special agents in intelligence and reconnaissance. This marks a significant change in Romanian espionage policy.
